Getting started with Joy Pilot is simple, and one of the first things you'll want to do is add a bank account to your dashboard. This step is essential for keeping your finances organised and ensuring all transactions are accurately tracked.
⚠️ Please note: you won’t be able to create sales invoices until a bank account has been added. Your bank details need to appear at the bottom of your invoices so clients know where to send payments.
To help you get set up, here’s a quick guide on how to add a bank account:
1. Accessing the 'Add Bank Account' Feature
Step 1: When you log into Joy Pilot, you’ll find yourself on the dashboard page. Look for the panel titled Bank Accounts. Initially, it will show no bank accounts listed.
Step 2: Click the green [ + Add ] button to proceed.
2. Filling Out Bank Account Details
A pop-up window titled New Bank Account will appear. Here's what you need to fill in:
Currency: Select the currency of the bank account.
Status: Set the bank account status to active.
Bank Name: Enter the name of the bank, eg HSBC, ASB, Wise, Starling
Account Name: Typically, this would be your business name.
Account Number: Enter your bank account number. (Note: for the UK this includes the Sort Code).
SWIFT/BIC Code (optional): This internationally recognized code identifies your bank.
IBAN (optional): The international format for your bank account number.
Description: Add a friendly description for easy recognition, like 'Current account' or 'Savings account'.
Opening Bank Balance: For new accounts, this will usually be zero. The date field defaults to today’s date, but it to whenever the account was opened.
After inputting all the necessary information, click the 'Save' button.
3. Setting Up a Bank Feed (Optional)
From the dashboard, you can also opt to set up a bank feed in regions where this is supported. Click on [ + Bank feed ], agree to the terms and conditions, and then select your bank to connect it.
