Advanced feature for NZ companies: initiate bank transfers directly from the Takings page without logging into internet banking.

Exclusive to New Zealand businesses, Joy Pilot introduces an advanced feature that simplifies the process of paying yourself by facilitating direct bank transfers from the Takings page, eliminating the need for logging into internet banking. Follow the steps below to set up and utilize this convenient feature.

Setting Up Your Account

Step 1: Adding Your Personal Bank Account

  1. Navigate to 'My Profile' in Joy Pilot.

  2. Enter your personal bank account number. This is where your takings payments will be deposited.

  3. To ensure the security of your confidential information, you'll be prompted to re-enter your password to save this change.

Step 2: Mobile Phone Number for Authentication

  1. In 'My Profile', also input your mobile phone number in the specified field for contact. This number is essential for authentication purposes.

  2. Confirm your password again and click 'Save Changes'.

Step 3: Connecting to a Bank Feed

  1. Go to the 'Accounting' menu and select 'Banking' from the dropdown list.

  2. Click on the "+bank feed" link to initiate setting up your bank feed connection through Akahu.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and verification process, which will include receiving a verification code via email.

Step 4: Connecting Your Bank Account

After verification:

  1. Select the bank account you wish to connect. Note: This refers to your company's bank account.

  2. Click the 'Connect' button to establish the connection between your selected bank account and Joy Pilot.

Step 5: Activating the Bank Feed

  1. You'll return to the home dashboard. Next to your company's bank account number, you will notice an internet icon.

  2. Click this icon and select the internet bank feed you've just set up with Akahu.

  3. Hit 'Save'. The icon's colour should change from grey to green, indicating the successful connection.

Making Payments

With everything set up, you are now ready to make a payment:

  1. Navigate to 'Take Home Payments' from the 'Business' dropdown menu or the left-hand side menu.

  2. Click 'Add a new take home payment' and fill in the necessary fields.

  3. Save the payment, and it will appear in the take home payments list with a black $ icon beside it.

  4. Click on this $ icon to initiate the 'Pay Now' process. You'll receive a verification code on your phone.

  5. Enter the received code in the verification pop-up window.

  6. Review the payment details in the pop-up window, and if correct, click the green 'Pay Now' button.

Following Payment: The $ icon beside your payment will turn orange, and after 5-10 seconds, it will change to grey, indicating the payment has been processed successfully.
